Welcome! Today we’ll be reviewing CompTIA A+ “All-In-One” Exam Guide by Mike Meyers.
Review Summary
- Length: 28 chapters, 1524 pages
- Cover Type: Hard
- Personal Completion Time: Roughly 3 months
- TL;DR Summary: A well written book that serves as a great “all-in-one” material for the exams. Very long, but covers all the bases you need to pass the exam; as with all certification study material I recommend you use another resource to answer some study questions to properly prepare for the exam.

If you’re looking for an “all-in-one” resource for your upcoming A+ exam this is a fantastic resource. Over the course of my career I’ve been exposed to many different “IT Certification” authors, and out of that pool of people anything authored by Mike Meyers has been an absolute blast to read. If you’re unfamiliar with Mike a quick summary would be that he is “the guy” to go to if you’re planning on studying for any CompTIA exam and has authored many, many books (most of them are in his famous “all-in-one” style). He’s a very positive, outgoing IT professional and – even when discussing something mundane like the internals of a laser printer or troubleshooting spam emails – its very apparent that he’s passionate about technology and educating others as all of his training material has a very unique writing style.
Regarding the actual book – its very lengthy, but if memory serves me correctly the exam objectives for the 220-1001 and 220-1002 exams cover a wide range of material so how much of this is “Mikes fault” is really hard to tell. Its worth mentioning that at the time of writing there are maybe a handful of other CompTIA A+ books, and of those that are written in a “all-in-one” style book they all have roughly the same page count (or higher). The concepts presented in the book are presented as simple and clearly as possible since Mike is aware that most people using this book are studying for an entry level certification. Overall I highly recommend this book, in addition to his Udemy content which I used to successfully pass my A+ certification exam.
